My goal is God Himself

This poem speaks for itself of where our heart and goal should be!

1.   My goal is God Himself, not joy, nor peace,
Nor even blessing, but Himself, my God;
'Tis His to lead me there—not mine, but His—
At any cost, dear Lord, by any road.

2.   So faith bounds forward to its goal in God,
And love can trust her Lord to lead her there;
Upheld by Him, my soul is following hard
Till God hath full fulfilled my deepest prayer.

3.   No matter if the way be sometimes dark,
No matter though the cost be oft-times great,
He knoweth how I best shall reach the mark,
The way that leads to Him must needs be strait.

4.   One thing I know, I cannot say Him nay;
One thing I do, I press towards my Lord;
My God my glory here, from day to day,
And in the glory there my great Reward.

Praising the Lord!

"Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men." Psalm107:8
   This past week our family experienced the goodness of God in a special way. Our 6 year old little boy was running down the sidewalk playing and our 11 yr. old son was riding his bike, they didn't see each other and the bike crashed into our little boy. The hand brake on the bike went into his head and fractured the skull bone and pushed it in towards the brain. God had His hand on us and in a particular way on our son. Another son  (almost 9) saw it happen and had the presence of mind to quickly hold his hands over the wound and apply pressure, Praise the Lord! I called for emergency help and when they arrived they chose to go to a larger city and hospital, Praise the Lord! The first Doctor to see him ordered a CT scan and saw that it was worse than just a bad head wound, Praise the Lord! They were able to air-lift him to the large Children's Hospital in a matter of an hour and begin surgery immediately, Praise the Lord! The Doctor who did the surgery needed to make an incision above the wound to repair the bone and check the covering of the brain, all went well and he was able to use dissolvable plates and screws, Praise the Lord! The next morning I was sitting next to Joseph's hospital bed and 6 or so  Pediatric Neuro surgeons came in and discussed what had happened and how our Dr. handled it. I heard the words, "incredible"  and "amazing", over and over, and realized afresh how great our God is, Praise the Lord! We were home in just a little over 24 hours from the accident, Praise the Lord! Our little son is doing amazingly well, and our older son is handling the whole situation very well, Praise the Lord!

On Sunday morning in church our sang the song "I have been blessed".
As I tried to sing, (cried instead) I looked down at my side and there was our little guy singing with all his might,         "I have been blessed, God's so good to me.
Precious are His thoughts of you and me.
No way I could count them, there's not enough time, so I'll just thank Him for being so kind.
 God has been good, so good, I have been blessed."
Thank You Jesus, You are GOOD!
